Lighting Fixtures and Exterior Paint

It is about 40 degrees today, which is the minimum temperature for the paint to be applied on the exterior. So those guys are doing that and the electricians are finishing up hanging fixtures.

Plumbing fixtures

We met with the builder yesterday and we now know that we are about a month away from being done. The delay is mainly due to things on the exterior and needing to wait for warmer weather to get them finished. The tile was another delay. The master bathroom tile had to be ordered and was coming from Italy, I know right, LA-TI-DA! I'm sure it says FRAGILE (fra-gee-lay) on the box... You know, because its Italian...

Anyway, most of the plumbing fixtures are in and the electricians have been installing the lights, switches and outlets, they should be done today.

Tile, the flooring and drainage type

It's been a while since my last post. Progress has been slow, despite it getting close to the end. The tile setter has been busy with the girl's and upstair's bathrooms, Mudroom and hearth tile. The leach field perimeter drain is going in and the lighting package was dropped off. The excavator putting in the septic, was kind enough to move the dumpster off the driveway and smooth it out somewhat. No more Baja through the front yard for my truck, oh well I'll have to find some other way to go off-roading.

Countertops and Paint

Been pretty slow progress at the house the last couple of weeks, but should start ramping up with the finish in sight.  They installed the granite counter-tops yesterday.  They really make an impact in the look of the kitchen.  We aren't going to know what to do with all of that counter space.  The painters have been busy as well.  The trim is all painted and most of the walls are "cut-in" with their final color.  The roofers have been back to fix the blown-off shingles, but I'm pretty sure it won't be the last time I see them.

 

Siding Installed

The exterior is looking almost finished, a bunch of white paint and it will be done.
