Big Progress

Since my last post there's been considerable progress at the house. Last week we noticed the driveway was covered with insulated tarps, apparently to keep it from freezing solid so they can pour the concrete sometime soon. Therefore, I had to get to work burying pipe under the drive for downspouts and electrical conduit. I rented a mini-excavator and had the job done in a matter of hours (but of course played with it for a couple more).

On Saturday the hardwood crew installed the hardwood in the kitchen and dining room. It turned out really nice, it's covered up so pictures don't do it much justice.

The tile guys continued with their excellent work in the master shower and tub surround. They worked late Monday night so the plumber could install the fixtures on Tuesday.

Also on Monday, the septic contractor got the tank re-set and hooked up all of the septic lines. That way the plumber could get water running through all of the fixtures on Tuesday.

On Tuesday the trim crew was there putting in all the shoe molding, desk tops, crown molding on the cabinets, cabinet hardware and door hardware. Their crew consisted of about 5-6 guys, so they were done in one day.

The closet and bath accessory people installed the mirrors, window blinds, shower rods and closet shelves on Tuesday as well. So it was pretty crowded since I was there as well trying to install the kitchen appliances. I eventually gave up and came back after everyone left. I also installed the water softener. Thanks to Shannon and Mark for watching the girls and helping move the appliances. Couldn't have done it without you guys.

So there you have it. It's getting close, hopefully weather doesn't delay the driveway going in and we should be moving soon.
