Yesterday I met with our builder out at the lot, we determined the approximate location of the house, driveway and septic finger system. A soil scientist came out as well, he took samples and gave us a good idea of the location and direction of the fingers. This was a huge relief because we were concerned about the leach field taking over the entire backyard. There should be plenty of room for future projects like a pool or pole barn.
The next step is to hire a septic engineer. They will come out and survey the lot, determine the slope, location of the septic tank and leach field. This all needs to be done before permits can be applied for. It's good to get this stuff out of the way before we are ready to break ground.
Nothing to report with the house sale. It's been on the market for a week and nothing yet. We're keeping our hopes up to sell sooner than later.

Introduction
Hey all,
I decided this would be a good way to keep friends and family posted on the progress of our new home. I'm just giving this a test drive, seeing as though we are not close to building yet. Therefore, in the mean time, I will post updates on how the new house planning and current home sale is going.
For those of you not familiar with typical blogs, comments can be posted at the bottom of the page, and are encouraged :)
